Frequently asked

Is this the game, or just the scoreboard?

It's the scoreboard. Estimation Score Keeper doesn't deal or play cards. You play Estimation with a real deck at the table, and the app records everyone's calls, tricks and points so nobody has to do the maths by hand.

How do I set up a game?

Tap Players and enter four names in seating order, then tap Start New Game and pick a length: Normal (18 rounds), Mini (10) or Micro (5).

Each round: enter every player's call, tap Start, play the hand with the real cards, then enter the tricks each player actually won and lock the round.

The round won't lock

Two things have to be true before a round can lock: every playing seat needs a trick count entered, and the four trick counts must add up to exactly 13. If the total isn't 13, the app shows you what it currently adds up to so you can fix it.

I made a mistake in the last round

Use Edit Round on the scoreboard to reopen the most recently locked round and correct the calls or tricks. The app rescores everything from that round forward.

Can I change the scoring rules?

Yes. Open Settings → Scoring to adjust every bonus and penalty (Caller, With, Dash Call, the high calls, Risk and the rest) and to toggle the "double the round on two or more With calls" rule. Tap Defaults at any time to restore the standard values.

What is Sa'aydeh / Pass All?

When every player misses their call in the same round, nobody scores that round and the next round's points are doubled. Tap the red Pass All button to mark the current round as Sa'aydeh in one step, without entering calls and tricks for everyone.

If you're unsure about Caller, With, Dash Call or Risk, the in-app How to Play tab explains each one with worked examples.

Where are my saved games and stats?

When a game is finished, tap Save Game. The Stats screen then shows the current game, an all-games leaderboard, and group results. Saved games stay on your device.

How do I share games with friends?

Open View Saved Games → Group Archive and create a group, or join an existing one using its code and password. Finished games can then be shared to that group so everyone sees the same shared leaderboard.

Whether games share automatically, and how the leaderboard combines device and group results, is controlled in Settings → Data.

Can I back up or move my games?

Yes. Settings → Data → Export saves your games as a file you can keep as a backup or move to another device. Import brings them back, and it skips any game the device already has, so importing the same file twice is safe.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Scoring, saved games and statistics all run entirely on your device. An internet connection is only needed for the optional Groups feature, which syncs shared games between members.

Why is it landscape only?

The scoresheet is wide: four players, each with their calls, tricks and running total, so the app is fixed to landscape to keep the whole board on screen at once.
